LOOK: RG Snyman and pregnant wife Saskia share dreamy safari babymoon getaway
Springbok star RG Snyman and his wife, Saskia, are soaking up some downtime in South Africa as they enjoy a luxury babymoon ahead of welcoming their first child.
Saskia recently took to Instagram to share a glimpse into the couple’s safari getaway at Qwabi Private Game Reserve near Bela-Bela.
The mother-to-be posted a carousel of pictures showing the couple enjoying romantic safari drives, close wildlife encounters and cosy boma dinners under the stars.
“Another day in paradise 🐆,” she captioned the post.
Saskia also shared a sweet snap showing off her growing baby bump while out in the bushveld.
“Taking the bump on safari 🦁,” she wrote.
The couple recently announced they were expecting their first child together.
On Thursday, May 6, the pair shared the happy news on Instagram with an emotional video that quickly melted hearts online.
“Our plus one,” they simply captioned the joint post.
The video showed the couple surrounded by scenic mountain views and lush greenery at sunset.
Saskia, dressed casually in a black T-shirt and blue jeans, proudly showed off her baby bump before holding up an ultrasound scan alongside her husband.
Over the past few months, Saskia and RG have been spending more time at their picturesque home in Paarl.
The towering lock, affectionately nicknamed “The Viking”, is currently sidelined after suffering an ACL injury while playing for Irish rugby club Leinster Rugby.
Through social media, the couple has often given followers a peek inside their life back home in South Africa, including updates on the dream house they started building in Paarl several years ago.
Despite being out of action and preparing for fatherhood, reports have confirmed that Snyman will remain with Leinster for another season.
It remains unclear whether the rugby star will return to Ireland before or after the baby’s arrival, or where the couple plans to welcome their little one.
RG moved to Ireland in 2020 after signing with Munster Rugby. In 2024, the double Rugby World Cup winner made the switch to rivals Leinster, where he continues to play professionally.
Having spent more than five years abroad, the Springbok and his wife appear to be making the most of their time back home in Mzansi before entering their next chapter as parents.
